PhD candidate Linzey Corridon shortlisted for prestigious Caribbean book prize

Linzey Corridon, a PhD candidate in English and Cultural Studies, has been shortlisted for the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean for his debut poetry collection, West of West Indies. Corridon’s work has garnered significant praise for its exploration of Caribbean LGBTQ experiences, with the judges describing the work as one that “reclaims deadly and derogatory stereotypes to create a counter archive of Caribbean LGBTQ healing.”
The OCM Bocas Prize celebrates outstanding contributions to Caribbean literature and is one of the most coveted awards for Caribbean authors.
