Congratulations to English and Cultural Studies community members Daniel Coleman, Shane Neilson, and Gary Barwin, who are all nominated for Hamilton Literary Awards this year! The Hamilton Arts Council Literary Awards recognize published books of literary excellence, written by authors residing in Hamilton.

Professor Daniel Coleman has been nominated for his literary non-fiction book Yardwork: A Biography of an Urban Place, PhD Candidate Shane Neilson has been nominated for his book of poetry Dysphoria, and the Department’s former Writer-in-Residence, Gary Barwin, has been nominated for his poetry collection No TV for Woodpeckers.

Celebrating the award’s 25th Anniversary, this year’s winners will be announced on Monday, December 10th, 2018 at a gala event taking place in the Norman and Louise Haac Studio Theatre at Theatre Aquarius (190 King William Street). Doors open at 6:30 PM and the ceremony begins at 7:00 PM – admission is FREE and all are welcome.
