The Hamilton Public Library and McMaster University welcome Kate Cayley as the 2018-19 Mabel Pugh Taylor Writer-in-Residence. Meet Kate on Thursday October 4, 7pm at Central Library (1st Floor, Hamilton Room) for a launch reception.

Kate Cayley is a fiction author, playwright and poet. Her short story collection, How You Were Born, won the 2015 Trillium Book Award. Her first poetry collection, When This World Comes to an End, was shortlisted for the ReLit Award and her young adult novel, The Hangman in the Mirror, won the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction.

Kate will have office hours on campus until December and at HPL from January to April 2019, as the Writer-In-Residence program gives aspiring, local writers access to a published writer to review their work and provide valuable tips and advice.

We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday October 4, and welcoming Kate!
